I
turned to ahkpod since all my other clients broke and no alternative
found. Plus, ahkpod is easy to modify, since it is written in
autohotkey.com language. So, as I find bug, xml not working, I
can fix it without extreme technical knowledge.
My review of
other podcast clients that suck: Itunes, deletes
subscription if you manage the mp3s (as in transcoding them to smaller
files); juice and ippodder stopped working on latest java
update; Poppuppy is dotnet and unresponsivem and looses
subscriptions and dl'd lists since stored in some registry or some
windows directory that can be globally modified; podcastready is crap
aimed at getting their content on your system.
This said, the
500 megabyte p.o.s. program called Itunes has a great store, which has
the hottest free podcasts. I haven't tried latest itunes (I am
afraid of going beyond the version that was 40 megs for what it will
screw up on my machine). Also, all podcasters test their rss/xml
with itunes.
